PERSONAL LEARNING PLANS

Currently, there is no particular layout required for presenting your Personal Learning Plan. However, here is a template containing four sheets which you may wish to use, it consists of:

  1. Summary Information Sheet
  2. Initial Learning Plan
  3. Review Summary Sheet
  4. Activity Summary Sheet

The following is a guide as to how to complete these sheets:

EDUCATIONAL NEED

A brief outline of the educational areas you are going to explore. i.e. "What are you going to learn about?"

REASON FOR INCLUDING IN LEARNING PLAN

Give a brief outline here of the methods you used to identify that particular learning need. This can be for multiple reasons such as a significant event audit, performing a Puns & Dens exercise or responding to constructive feedback from peers. i.e. "Why or how did you choose these areas to learn about?"

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

What specific objectives did you set yourself in relation to that educational need ? i.e. "What specifically are you going to set as targets within each of the topics to learn about?"

ACTIVITIES TO BE USED

Which educational methods do you intend to use to achieve your objectives ? i.e. "How are you going to learn about them?"

PROPOSED ASSESSMENT METHOD

How are you going to demonstrate the learning outcomes from your educational activities, in other words, what have you got which could be assessed to show that you have completed the activity and have learnt something ?
